Even if we do not have installed the Live Messenger client on your computer that we use, from now on we can chat the same with our contacts across the web instant messaging from Microsoft.

The feature, announced simultaneously updating Wave 3 Live Hotmail, is available today for customers in Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, Holland, Norway and the U.S. (as usual, the rollout will be done gradually).

In the markets of France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the UK, instant messaging via the web was made available from last month.

Support for additional international markets will be offered in the coming months.

The capabilities offered by the new features Web Messenger:

- Ability to access the IM network and send instant messages from any computer connected to the Internet, even where it is not installed Windows Live Messenger.

- People can view the availability status of only if they have been added and Messenger contacts. You can access and use Hotmail or any other service without Windows Live Messenger Web access, so anyone can start a chat with the user before it decides whether to share their availability status.

- Possibility to send IM to your contacts from your Messenger Persons (the contacts list). Just click on the contact, and you can see instant voice mail message in the dropdown menu.

- If you have more than one Windows Live ID, you can access the Web Messenger and Messenger normal at the same time, with different ID.

- In Hotmail, if you receive an e-mail from one of Messenger contacts, you will see Messenger availability of its green, yellow or red next to the name. In case of availability (green) you can click the icon and start an instant chat.
